Processed Food Definition

Cutting back on processed foods is one of the standard pieces of advice for healthy living, but coming up with a workable definition of what “processed” means is not as simple as you might think. Simply cooking a food, or harvesting and cleaning it, can be considered processing. So the real question for health-conscious diners is: What kinds of processing makes foods unhealthy?

CEC19.1 will focus on keeping PROCESSED FOOD out of our diets. Instead we want to eat WHOLE FOOD. Consequently you will be penalized for eating processed foods.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CEC 19.1

Track the following information on your weekly activity log/score sheet.

  • 2 pt. CrossFit workouts (Maximum 4 per week)
  • 1 pt. Water consumption (.5oz per # of body wt.)
  • 1 pt. Sleep (7 hrs. minimum)
  • 1 pt. 15 min. Mobility (Everyday)
  • – 1 pt. Processed foods consumed (Penalty)
  • – 1 pt. Alcohol consumed (Penalty)
  • – 1 pt. Added Sugar Consumed (Penalty)
  • Complete “Bonus” information contained on the activity log/score sheet each week.

We are pleased to announce that Melissa Lorton will be on hand Friday evening at the CEC19.1 Orientation Meeting to provide expert information on KETO and Ketosis.  Melissa was born and raised in Grand County and now has a company specializing in KETO nutrition.
