Important HWY 40 THROWDOWN information.

Lodging Options:
There were still some rooms at the Super 8 and the Hampton Inn and Suites in Craig as of Friday.

General Information:
Check-in will open at 7:00 am.
Get there early so that you can sign-up for the FLOATER.
Waivers must be signed at the site.
Each team will be identified by a number throughout the competition.
Parking will be limited with the days events. If you can carpool that would be great.
Team Camp set up will be designated on the map before the event. There is lots of indoor room to set up your camp.
Children and little kids will need to be watched, especially with the water in the area.

Competition Information
1.  Floater 1 and Event 1 orientation will begin at 8:30am
2.  Event 1 will begin at 9am.
3.  Orientations and Demonstrations of workouts will be held 10 minutes after the conclusion of the previous workout, followed by a 20 min break to set up for the next workout.
4.  Each team is responsible for providing— 1 mountain bike and helmet & 1 paddle board with life jacket for the triathalon event.   If you need a paddle board or bike talk to Cal. If you have an extra paddle board or bike let Cal know so he can coordinate with teams that need one.
5.  It is the responsibility of each athlete/team to know the required movements and weights for each or their workouts.
6.  Judges are volunteers who want to do the right thing. If you get a “No Rep” it is because you did not execute the movement correctly and/or did not complete the movement. Any verbal abuse aimed at a judge by a competitor or spectator will not be tolerated.
7.  Stand Firm competitors we will ask that you help out and judge an event or two when called upon.
8.  When you report to your workout station present to your judge your scoresheet. If you have physical limitations let your Judge know at this time. Make sure you have the correct weights on the bar, chalk up and be ready to go.
9.  At the conclusion of your workout sign your scoresheet then, you will take it to the score table immediately. If your scoresheet doesn’t make it to the official scorer it is on you.
10.  Please restrict yourself to the designated spectator areas while viewing the competition.
11. Safety matters. Throwing barbells, weights, ect may result in disqualification. All standards will be reviewed prior to each workout and must be strictly  adheared to.
12. Athletes cannot wear hand protection and tape the pull-up bar. They can only use one or the other.

Stand Firm Athletes

  1. Make sure you have all the gear you will need for the various events.  Things like tape, lifing shoes, jump rope, etc.
  2. Bring food and water to keep you going.  Nothing too heavy.  Fruits and hydration mix.
  3. I have agreed to help out with some of the judging.  Those of you who feel comfortable please step-up and judge an event or two.
  4. Bill George has reserved a venue for a post competition BBQ just outside of Craig.
  5. If you can carpool with others from Stand Firm please do.
  6. If you have questions get them answered by Cal during this coming week.
